About Me

Classic Wit. Modern Heat. Timeless Romance.
I believe in the universality of love. Whether your favorite main character wears a corset or a power suit, the heart always speaks the same language.
My writing is deeply rooted in the tradition of Jane Austen. Like Jane, I love to focus on the social dance, sharp-tongued banter, and complex internal lives of women navigating their world.
Currently, I write two subgenres of romance – the sweeping, structured landscape of the Regency era, and high-stakes, funny contemporary romances. No matter the century, my stories are built on the foundations of deep emotion and delicious tension of the slow burn made spicy.
My Literary Philosophy.
My writing goals are simple, though my characters’ paths never are.
Jane Austen is quoted as saying, “My characters shall have, after a little trouble, all that they desire.”
I’d like to put my own modern spin on that. My characters will be put through the ringer. But after their trials, a fair share of mischief, and a series of steamy misunderstandings, they’ll find their happily ever afters.
But, all happy endings must be earned. My readers can always expect a story where the chemistry is electric, the stakes are personal, and the ending is guaranteed to satisfy.
What You’ll Find In My Stories.
I am a lover of the “classic” for a reason. Whether I’m writing a lighthearted rom-com or a gut-wrenching emotional journey, you can expect to find my favorite tropes woven into the fabric of the story:
The Spark of Conflict: Enemies-to-Lovers & Fake Dating.
The Slow Burn: Friends-to-Lovers.
The Pressure Cooker: Forced Proximity.
And, of course, I always blend genres. Whether it’s rom-com paired with a murder mystery, or a holiday romance with a touch of baby drama, I consider my work an exploration into the complexity of life.

Beyond the Page
Just a little more about me.

I first discovered Jane Austen through a PBS show in the 1990s called Wishbone, in which a Jack Russell Terrier equates real-world problems his owner faces with tales of classic literature. He, of course, reenacted Pride and Prejudice, and I fell in love.
Of course, it helps that a couple of years later, I watched the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth and REALLY fell in love.

My husband is my high school sweetheart, and we very much had a dislike to lovers story (at least on my part. I doubt he gave me a second thought at first).
On my part, I fell for him on our marching band’s trip to Florida to play at Disney World. I was feeling down about high school, teenaged drama, and he uplifted me. Before I knew it, I started obsessing.
He fell for me pretty much as soon as he realized I actually liked him for him, and not just to tick off a checkbox that yes, I had a high school boyfriend.
We got married on July 31, 2010.

When I’m not orchestrating grand romantic gestures or writing myself out of a “forced proximity” corner, you can usually find me playing with my children, planning elaborate Christmases, daydreaming, singing, playing the saxophone, and cuddling the aforementioned husband.
I’m also an unabashed cat lover who recently adopted a new cat. Take a look at my partner-in-crime, Bella.
